Fire Ants

Fire Ants

Insect Pest · Solenopsis invicta

Fire ants build dome-shaped mounds in sunny lawns, fields, parks, and roadside areas. Their sting is immediate and painful, making them a concern for families, pets, and outdoor workers. Colony populations can exceed hundreds of thousands.

Fire ants thrive in disturbed soils and multiply quickly following rain and warm weather. Long-term control requires treating the full nesting zone, not only individual mounds.
