Ghost Ant

Ghost Ant

Insect Pest · Tapinoma melanocephalum

Ghost ants are one of the most frequently encountered household ants in Southwest Florida. Their tiny size and pale bodies make them difficult to spot until large trails appear across countertops, sinks, or bathroom fixtures. Colonies divide easily, allowing them to spread quickly through wall voids, mulch, and potted plants.

They prefer moisture and sugary foods, and infestations often spike during warm, humid weather or after heavy rain.
