Torpedograss is one of the toughest weeds to suppress in Southwest Florida lawns. It spreads aggressively through underground rhizomes with sharp, pointed “torpedo-like” tips that penetrate St. Augustine and Bahia turf.
Left unchecked, torpedograss can overtake large areas. Effective management requires repeated, well-timed treatments paired with improving soil and turf density.
